SGAR at EUROPEAN RESEARCH NIGHT

EUROPEAN RESEARCH NIGHT Bucharest 29 October 2023

Science in the “street” is an excellent way to encourage children and adults of various fields of expertise to ask questions and learn more about the world around them. Romanian Society of Applied Geophysics (SGAR) was at the spot to spread information about the role of geophysics in the physics of the Earth and space as well as in the actions for the UN-Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).

At the Romanian Society of Applied Geophysics (SGAR) booth, we received the visit of organized groups of K–12 and students enrolled at facultyes. On this occasion, they’ve been introduced to the applicability of Geophysics for sustaining the fulfilment of the UN-SDG Goals using examples of the Romanian Society of Applied Geophysics & Partners field campaigns.

The EUROPEAN RESEARCH NIGHT  at Bucharest was followed by Researchers Night -Research for Health in Magurele, Ilfov County.

Romanian Society of Applied Geophysics (SGAR) participation at the European Researchers Night 2023 was coordinated by Ioana Grigore (SGAR & Institute of Geodynamics of the Romanian Academy), Florina Tuluca (SGAR & Faculty of Geology and Geophysics, University of Bucharest & Institute of Geodynamics of the Romanian Academy), Ioane Dumitru (SGAR & Faculty of Geology and Geophysics, University of Bucharest), Stochici Rasvan (SGAR & Institute of Geodynamics of the Romanian Academy), Diacopolos Constantin (Institute of Geodynamics of the Romanian Academy).
