SGAR and ARCHEOGEOPHYSICS 2023

SGAR is part of the partnership formed for the research of the Reșca-Romula archaeological site, Dobrosloveni commune in Olt county, and supports the site’s candidacy for inclusion in the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage list

SGAR & FGG& INFP coordinated the campaign of geophysical studies, LiDAR, and thermal scanning with UAVs carried out in July 2023. At the campaign took part specialists from the Faculty of Geology and Geophysics (FGG) – University of Bucharest,  the National Research and Development Institute for Earth Physics, the Institute of Geodynamics of the Romanian Academy and students.

The Romula-Reșca archaeological site in Dobrosloveni (Olt) is coordinated by the University of Bucharest. As part of the SGAR and Archaeogeophysics program, the Romanian Society of Applied Geophysics has promoted over time the use of geophysical methods for archaeological studies, being involved in research actions on archaeological sites from Limanu (Mangalia) 2019-2023, Reșca (Dobrosloveni ) 2021-2023 and in areas with archaeological heritage highlighted by chance (Mangalia).
